Microblading is the hottest trend for eyebrows and a good excuse to book a day at the salon. At Mitchell’s Salon & Day Spa, we invite you to try this amazing technique that lets you choose the shape and color of the eyebrows you want. This semi-permanent treatment uses cosmetic tattooing to give your eyebrows arch and definition, with results lasting up to two years with proper care.

Microblading uses a technique known as micropigmentation. The process lets your beauty professional implant color underneath the skin’s surface. The technique uses tiny, sterile needles that deposit a non-toxic pigment, which produces results that look like natural hairs. Each stroke creates realistic eyebrows that you will be proud to show off.

FAQ

Got any questions?

We have the answers

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo on the brow that is applied by hand (no machine). Safe, plant-based pigments are deposited into the very outer layer of skin with very small, individual, feathered strokes that perfectly mimic eyebrow hair. The result is a very natural-looking, well-shaped, fuller brow that you won’t have to fill in with makeup every day.

How long does Microblading last?

The pigment used in this procedure is semi-permanent so the effects of the procedure typically last up to 12 months or longer. Because of the unique qualities of each individual’s skin and lifestyles, we are unable to guarantee how long your results will last. You will likely need a touch-up within 6-24 months. Strict adherence to brow aftercare is highly recommended and will affect how your brows last over time.

Who is not suited for Microblading?

You should NOT have microblading done if the following apply to you: being pregnant or nursing, having a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring, having viral infections such as colds or flu or other illnesses, having epilepsy, having a history of organ transplant, having skin irritations or psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.), having had Botox treatments in the past two months, having taken Accutane in the past, and having uncontrolled high blood pressure and poor general health. If you are diabetic, in chemotherapy, have a pacemaker, or have major heart problems, please get clearance from your doctor first

*We use pigments by PhiBrows, which do not include metal particulates as some microblading pigments do.

How is the Microblading procedure performed?

The procedure is done using a hand tool, with a prepackaged, sterile, single-use “blade” made up of a grouping of needles that are three times smaller than the needles that would be used in a tattoo machine. With the appropriate amount of pressure, the skin is scored and the pigment is deposited into the epidermis (outermost layer of skin). Think small paper cuts!

How long does the procedure take?

A consultation is required prior to the procedure. The first appointment will take approximately two to three hours. The second appointment, your four-to-six week enhancement/perfecting appointment, will take one to two hours.

Does Microblading hurt?

Each individual will have a different experience with the level of discomfort associated with the service. Some say it is relaxing and they only feel the pressure being applied. Others say it feels about as uncomfortable as tweezing. Still, there are some who will feel that it is more uncomfortable. A topical anesthetic can be used to ensure your comfort during the procedure.

Can I have Microblading done if I have no brow hair?

Absolutely, this is a great option for those who suffer from Alopecia, Trichotillomania, or have been through chemotherapy. Microblading can even correct past wax catastrophes, over tweezing, or the normal hair thinning that occurs post-menopause.

What is the recovery time?

When you leave from your appointment your brow area may appear pink and the pigment itself will seem darker than you may prefer. The day after your appointment few people would notice anything unusual. Throughout the healing process (1-2 weeks), they will slowly fade to a softer, more natural shade, but they will not be unpresentable. Please refrain from having microblading done before going on a beach vacation or a camping trip.

How often can I get touch-ups?

As often as you would like as long as 21 days has passed since your last appointment. You most likely won’t want or need a touch-up until at least six months have passed. An annual touch-up is recommended to keep your brows looking optimal.

How do you choose the shape?

We choose the shape of your new brows together. Whether you are just looking to enhance the fullness of your natural brow, or create a whole new shape, we will take it one step at a time. Your new shape will be applied with a cosmetic pencil first so that you can see how it will look on your face. We will not start the procedure until you are happy with what we have created.

What if I don’t like my brows after this procedure?

Keep in mind that your brows will appear darker for the first couple of weeks than they will once they have healed. Once they have healed, we can fix any minor imperfections during your four-week touch-up appointment. There is a no-guarantee removal process but it does generally give great results.
